Jennifer Lopez has learnt to be herself in relationships.

The singer-and-actress has been married three times, most recently to Marc Anthony, with the divorce finalised last year.

She's been dating dancer Casper Smart on and off since, but things got messy in 2014 when it was rumoured he'd cheated on her.

For now, the 45-year-old is staying positive by focusing on the love lessons she's learned.

"Be 100 per cent yourself!" she advised German magazine TV Movie. "Only when you truly love yourself can anyone else love you."

Jennifer and Marc have twins Max and Emme together and right now the star wants to focus on her children.

"For the first time ever I'm not searching for a man but concentrating on my kids," she smiled. "It's a great experience and I don't regret anything."

The beauty looks amazing for her age, which she reminded everyone by stripping off for her latest movie, The Boy Next Door. In it she plays a woman who falls for a much younger man, portrayed by 27-year-old Ryan Guzman.

She says her fantastic figure is down to good genes and hard work and doesn't find it hard to understand why men might fall for a more experienced lady.

"These days, women just get more attractive and interesting at 40," she grinned. "They have confidence, which makes them very sexy to young men."

Life imitated art when Jennifer dated Casper, who is the same age as Ryan. But the star doesn't think age matters and wishes people wouldn't make it a big deal.

"I'm not after younger guys," she insisted to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. "If younger guys like me, then that's one thing."
