Nelly Furtado can't imagine living without her husband.

The Canadian singer married Cuban sound engineer Demacio 'Demo' Castellón in July 2008. Nelly says their relationship is stronger than ever and she never wants to be parted from him.

"If you love someone that much it's like you don't wanna die on your own, but with him," she told German magazine In.

Nelly has a nine-year-old daughter, Nevis, from a previous relationship.

The 33-year-old star's life has transformed since she became a mom, but she has found a way to juggle her career and family responsibilities.

"I want to be a good role model for my daughter. Ever since she was born, I have separated my private life and my job more,' she explained. 'On one hand, I jet around the world and record songs. On the other hand, I am a mom cooking soup when I come back home. But I am having a lot of fun changing between these two lives."

Nelly can't believe how quickly Nevis is growing up. The little girl is already developing strong opinions ' and isn't shy about telling her mom exactly what she thinks about her songs.

"Sometimes she doesn't like my music at all and says things to me like, 'Somehow that's a bit slow.' Children are always so honest,' she laughed.
