Springsteen accused of affair
Bruce Springsteen has been accused of breaking up a marriage.

Arthur Kelly claims his wife Ann committed adultery with the rock star and has filed for divorce.

Mr Kelly, who comes from Springsteen's home state of New Jersey, said the singer had an affair with his wife of 17 years. They have two daughters aged 10 and 12.

But a spokesman for Springsteen, who has been married to Patti Scialfa since 1991, denied his involvement in the couple's break-up.

He said the singer stood by a statement of loyalty to his wife, posted on his website following rumours of infidelity in 2006.

In the statement, Springsteen wrote that "our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married".

But Mr Kelly's divorce papers said: "The defendant (Ann Kelly) has committed adultery with one Bruce Springsteen, who resides in Rumson, New Jersey, and Colts Neck, New Jersey, at various times and places too numerous to mention."

Mrs Kelly has denied the allegations and her lawyer said: "My client absolutely denies having an affair with Bruce Springsteen. These are baseless allegations of a jealous man. And that's all there is to it."

Springsteen was previously married to actress Julianne Phillips. They divorced in 1989.
