Adele is terrified of becoming a drug addict
The 'Rolling in the Deep' hitmaker is scared of flying but refuses to take prescribed substances to take the edge of her terror as she fears it will lead to a downward spiral of dependency.

She said: ''m probably the worst flier. I don't take Valium or anything like that because I'm scared I'll be the next Lindsay Lohan, popping sleeping pills.

'Plus I don't want to be out of it if the plane crashes. I want to be aware and call my mum.'

'Mean Girls' star Lindsay recently left rehab after a court-ordered three month stint to be treated for substance abuse problems.

Though the 22-year-old singer hates flying, she loves to travel and broaden her knowledge and experiences.

She added to Q magazine: ''m really interested in lots of things. When I was younger I used to be in class and think I knew it all. I'm really interested in art and literature and film and cooking and sociology and history and travelling, even though I hate flying.'
